Welcome to 7th grade Math!
My name is Scarlett Eaton and this is my fourth year at Phillips. I am looking forward to an exciting year working with you and your child as we work through engaging and challenging activities that expand our understanding of mathematics in the classroom and the world.
My teaching practices lend themselves to a more student-led learning environment. We focus on collaboration, critical thinking, modeling and discovery. To maximize these learning opportunities, I establish a positive, encouraging community in my classroom by modeling what it means to be an active listener and an active participant as well as maintaining high expectations for all students.
Our common goal, as teacher, parents, and students is to work as a team to ensure the success of students as they grow intellectually, personally and emotionally; therefore, open communication is essential. The class blog will keep you informed about what's happening in class, provide tutorial videos, and to inform you of upcoming assignments/tests; however, please fill out the contact form on the bottom of the parent letter and return it so I can contact you directly via email as needed.
